MITZVAH DAY- Rain or Shine

Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (formerly John U. Lloyd Beach State Park)
Park Entry is FREE- Parking will be at lot #4 (about 2 miles into the Park). Signs will be posted.
Religious School Meets at the Park- and must be accompanied by a parent.
Food, Free T-shirts, Music and Fun and a great Educational Program about Sea Turtles, Plastics in the Ocean and Native Plants.
Activities Include:
- Planting Sea Oats and Coastal plants- Please bring your own gloves and shovels
- Painting walls and murals
- Decorating and filling Chemo-Care Backpacks
- Making Tote Bags from Recycled T-shirts and filling them with toiletries for Homeless Children
- Decorating Recycling Bins
- Educational Program on Sea Turtles, Native Plants and Plastics in the Ocean
- Musical Tu B’Shevat Seder presented by JNF
This year on Mitzvah Day, we will be making Chemo Care Kits for children undergoing chemotherapy at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Items we are collecting for this kits and the reason we are collecting each item are listed below. Thank you so much!:
Items to help with Side Effects:
- Tissues (small packs)
- Mints, Lemon drops, lemon heads, gum, ring pops- to help with bad taste in mouth from chemo
- Fragrance free body lotion- chemo dries out skin
- Hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes (for family members)
- Lip Balm- chemo dries lips
Comfort Items:
- New soft socks, slippers or hat (cute or funny or attractive for older girls) to cover hair loss
- New washable cuddly item
Activity Items:
- coloring book and crayons or colored pencils
- note pad, colored pens
- simple crafts or toys
- activity or joke book
- stickers, sticker book
- travel-sized games, card games, puzzles

Additional Collection Items:
