Born in Uruguay, South America and raised in Forest Hills, New York, Frida attended Yeshiva through High School. Moving to Miami, she graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and a specialty in Finance.
Frida is married to Albert Yahya and is the proud mother of Gabriella, Alexander and his wife, Mazi.
Frida believes that strong Jewish values and a solid Jewish identity is developed through family, education and community: combining a foundation of Judaism at home, an education that builds knowledge and confidence, and a community that provides social opportunities steeped in Jewish traditions. These beliefs are reflected in Frida’s personal commitment to her family and the Jewish community, which includes being a Founding Builder at the Aventura-Turnberry Jewish Center, almost 15 years of service on the Executive Board at the Scheck Hillel Community School in North Miami Beach, 2 years as President of the North Beach Chapter of ORT, and a host of other affiliations including: the Michael-Ann Russell JCC, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key International Honor Society.
In 2014, Frida joined the staff at Temple Solel and now serves as Director of Business Administration, or as Rabbi Salkin likes to say, “the body part of the Body & Soul of Solel.” She hopes to continue growing our Family of Solel and Solel’s community presence.
